Schmitt + Sohn has introduced a daily reading hour for company. For an hour a day, they can immerse themselves in various topics from the fields of culture, society, economy and politics. There are annual training days out on current topics, and activity afternoons with S+ executives. Some free headspace, to encourage personal development.

Training content

During training, industrial management assistants learn about the structures, processes and tasks at the following departments at S+:

  • Company: Company mission statement, corporate culture, organisational chart, business metrics, products, core process, company history 
  • Accounting/controlling: Processing of accounting operations (accounts receivable, accounts payable), reminders, settlement of payment transactions, cost accounting, fixed asset accounting
  • Procurement/purchasing: Checking of invoices and order confirmations, delivery note creation, participation in supplier meetings, supplier assessments
  • Personnel department: Applicant management, support for payroll accounting, compilation of pay slips, compilation of records of absence, acquaintance with billing process, general personnel management, processing of statistics, acquaintance with vehicle management process

  • Cage construction: Differentiation, assignment and handling of materials and auxiliary materials; construction of cabs for technical documentation; checking of components and modules, packaging of modules; end stops, securing and transporting of lift components
  • Mounting of lift car structure: Differentiation, assignment and handling of materials and auxiliary materials; manufacture of components and modules; manufacture of truss-truss parts according to parts lists; end stops, securing and transporting of lift components
